Torcuato Di Tella University (UTDT) is a private, nonprofit university founded in 1991 in Buenos Aires, with the mission of contributing to academic life and education through training the new business, political, academic, social and artistic generations of Argentina. The spirit of the university comes from Engineer Torcuato Di Tella, founder of SIAM, one of the most dynamic metalworking industries of the time in Latin America.

His sons were inspired to create the the Torcuato Di Tella Institute in 1958 to promote high-level study and research, without losing sight of the Latin American context. Since then the institution has acted as a cultural landmark and entrepreneurship beacon, guiding artists professionals and academics.

The university houses nine main academic units, focused on social sciences in the fields of economics, historical and social studies, mathematics and statistics, business administration, law, political science, international relations, social sciences and architecture. Graduate PhDs (two) and master's degrees (18) including an MBA accredited by AMBA are available and taught by the school’s 77 full-time professors, most of who are graduates of the school itself or visiting professors.

The university maintains its international ties through offering exchange programmes with one of 90 universities in Europe, North America, South America, Australia, Africa and Asia. The university also has a sizeable number of international students that study for a semester or two.

In 2013, the university relocated to its new Figueroa Alcorta campus, a renovated 13,700 m² waterworks building. Within that premises it has been able to house the Center for Financial Research, the Entrepreneurship and New Business Development Center, the International Studies Center, the Crime, Institutions and Policy Research Laboratory and the Center for the Evaluation and Study in Social Economics for Poverty Relief.

Since UTDT is devoted to social sciences, their campus houses a library with over 95,000 books, 2,500 newspaper collections, and 6,000 digital documents. Some of its original editions collection date as far back as the 17th century. The university has the Edward Shaw and Maria Padilla de Shaw collection for contemporary arts on exhibition in its two buildings and offers numerous art programmes and workshops, a foundation that has driven the university to contemplate the idea of offering a bachelor’s degree in art in the future.

Buenos Aires is located on the banks of the Río de la Plata and is home to over one-third of the Argentinian population. Built by European immigrants, Buenos Aires has a resemblance to parts of Paris, Rome and Barcelona. This is due to the city's grand architecture, world-renowned theatres, shops and cafes, and some of the best entertainment and nightlife in the world.
