Utsunomiya University is a Japanese public university set up in 1949 by integrating three institutions - Utsunomiya Agricultural and Forestry College, Tochigi Normal School and Tochigi Normal School for Youth. Utsunomiya is one of the best technological universities in Japan.
You can do an undergraduate degree within the Faculty of International Studies, the Faculty of Education, the Faculty of Engineering (in Yoto Campus) or the Faculty of Agriculture.
Some of the university's best known research is in optics and weed science. One of its professors, Dr Yoneyama was awarded the international Thomson Reuters Research Front Award, which prizes achievements in emerging research areas, for having discovered a new class of plant hormones.
